I have an eclectic taste in music but rock has always called to me the loudest. I had an uncle that lodged with us for many years, from his room came wonderous sounds! Marc Bolan, Susi Quatro, Status Quo, Meatloaf, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, etc and the music I remember most was Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds concept album! He said it was okay for me to go into his room and play this album as long as I was very careful and so I’d spend hours lying on his bed listening and loving that album. Then came the eighties and I adored those new wave pop years and the rise of the glam rock bands. My grandfather bought me my first Walkman cassette player and the first album I owned myself.. Guns N Roses Appetite for Destruction! My mother was not happy but I was! I have a soft spot for emotive instrumental movie scores and a disliking for most jazz, it jangles my already on edgey nerves.. yes I can listen to heavy metal and find it even relaxing at times but far out there jazz plucks at those nerves, setting off my noise sensitivity and sending spikes of pain throughout my head!
So here’s a few you tube vids of some of my favourite movie pieces..
and this.. that one song that means the most. the song that makes me think the hardest and moves me the deepest..
Dream on dear friends….. dream on and try your hardest to make those dreams come true.
I’ll have to come back to listen to more of these. π
Thanks Kev, i think they are here more so i can listen to them easily myself but i do hope you enjoy them if you get the chance to listen.
I’m sure I will. π
Hi shadow, living in the shadows, life is a struggle my dear isn’t it, but you are right I think as we do get older which I am older then you …we get to know ourselves and let things fall away and not get so hung up on. I wish I had more time to read your stories…soon I will try. Yes I believe you will help others with your blog..
Have a wonderful week…keep the light shining
